Greetings from Grand Junction!

We have left our first destination and now have arrived in Grand Junction. We saw many beautiful trees in the Rocky Mountains and found that they are still fighting some kind of beetle that is killing so many trees! That was really sad.

I'm having a horrible time getting videos to upload on these hotel systems.. they must be too slow.... so here's some pictures

Goodmorning from Lovely Colorado

Goodmorning from Colorado.....

Here's a movie that I put together from yesterdays travels to Colorado.

The funniest thing happened at dinner last night. We went to the Colorado Bar and Grill.... Dixie had on a t-shirt from Hawaii. This lady at another table told her they spent some lovely time there last year. She started talking to us and told us she was from Hayes, Kansas.

Tom, being friendly, said, "Do you know any Rabas's that live there?" (our tables weren't close together and there were people talking)

The lady responded to Tom, "Uh....no I don't think so..."

Looking at the confusion and fright on the lady's face I said...."Rabas... not Rapist."

We all laughed like crazy and you could see the visible look on the woman's face...

Of course we couldn't let it go, we laughed harder.... saying "do you want to know any?" LOL

Dixie said, "Uh, yeah that would be my brother.."

These are the times you wish you had the camera rolling!

12 Hours In The Car..... U G H

...Don't let any EVER tell you that motoring across Kansas is NOT Boring! It is!! We are here at the Black Dog Inn in Phippsburg, CO, about 30 minutes outside of Steamboat Springs. It's a very small town, not even a restuarant, we had to go 4 miles down the road to get something to eat.... but the prime rib was good.

Buddy did well, he only farted one time I think.......

Being in the car 12 hours....sucks.... plain and simple.... but Buddy seemed to enjoy himself!

Steamboat Springs Forecast for Sunday

Steamboat Springs forecast for Sunday.... looking good 72 degrees!

Can't wait!
We found a place to have brunch on the mountain....gondola's leave to the mountain every 30 minutes.

Today is Wednesday and we're starting to get ready to go on our trip. Packing and more packing.

It's sometimes good and sometimes bad that I'm one of those people that make a list and persist on taking everything that someone "might" need when we go on a trip. Guess that's why I'd never make a good camper.... have to have all the conveniences of home with me. LOL

Buddy knows that something is up.... and he's getting excited too... dogs just know those things. He's really a great traveler and will enjoy himself very much!
